Thunderstorms are unlikely through early New Year's Day.

....Synopsis...
Lift within a shallow warm advection regime is noted along the TX
Gulf Coast in IR imagery, but mid-level water vapor imagery, as well
as the 00 UTC soundings from BRO and CRP, show substantial dry air
aloft. This should continue to limit thunderstorm potential
overnight over land, though a flash or two over the northwestern
Gulf of Mexico is possible.
