The northern/western extent of the general thunderstorm area has
been trimmed across the southern and central Plains. Isolated
lighting flashes will remain possible through tonight across these
areas with elevated convection as a cold front moves southward.

....Synopsis...
A broad and deep upper trough is in place today over much of the
central and northern US, with a plume of moisture and scattered
precipitation extending from TX into the OH Valley.  Marginal
elevated CAPE will result in sporadic lightning flashes across this
broad area, but weak thermodynamics will preclude the risk of
organized severe storms.
