Severe thunderstorms are not expected through tonight.

....Discussion...
A potent mid-level shortwave trough just off the Mid-Atlantic
coast will pivot northeast and parallel the New England coast
through this evening. Strengthening forcing for ascent attendant to
this wave should yield an increase in low-topped showers across
southern New England by midday, spreading north across northern New
England this afternoon. Scant buoyancy may be sufficient to yield
sporadic thunderstorms across mainly coastal sections of New
England, with more prominent thunderstorm activity likely offshore.
Elsewhere, quiescent conditions for thunderstorm potential will
prevail across much of the rest of the Lower 48 States.
