Severe thunderstorms are not expected on Monday. ....Discussion... Cyclonic flow aloft will encompass the eastern half of the U.S. today, with a cool/dry continental airmass in place east of the Rockies in the wake of a prior cold-frontal passage. In the West, ridging will shunted gradually eastward, as a trough shifts inland from the eastern Pacific. As colder mid-level air associated with the trough overspreads the Pacific Northwest, showers and occasional/embedded lightning flashes are expected in the post-frontal airmass. Elsewhere, a couple of showers and perhaps a thunderstorm may develop during the afternoon across the higher terrain of southeastern Arizona, but coverage is not expected to be sufficient to warrant 10% areal inclusion. ...Goss/Thornton.. 10/16/2023 $$ = = = To unsubscribe from WX-STORM and you already have a login, go to https://lists.illinois.edu and use the "Unsubscribe" link.
