Severe thunderstorms are not expected on Sunday. ....Synopsis... Upper troughing is forecast to extend from the Canadian Maritime Provinces southwestward through the OH Valley into the southern Plains early Sunday morning. A series of shortwave troughs are expected to traverse through this broad upper trough throughout the period, leading to an overall deepening of this troughing across the eastern CONUS by Monday morning. Upper ridging will likely amplify slightly across the western CONUS, ahead of a deep upper low approaching the Pacific Northwest coast. At the surface, expansive ridging will be centered over the Plains, with dry, offshore trajectories persisting throughout the day east of the Rockies. Scouring of the low-level moisture by a preceding frontal passage, combined with offshore low-level trajectories, will preclude thunderstorm development east of the Rockies. The only exception is across southern FL, where limited low-level moisture will be in place ahead of the weakening front. Dry conditions will preclude thunderstorm development across the western CONUS as well. ...Mosier.. 10/13/2023 $$ = = = To unsubscribe from WX-STORM and you already have a login, go to https://lists.illinois.edu and use the "Unsubscribe" link.
