Severe thunderstorms are not forecast tonight.

Strong upper trough is digging southeast across the Great Lakes
early this evening. Much cooler lower-tropospheric temperatures and
steep lapse rates remain conducive for lightning, primarily in the
lee of Lake MI this evening. In the absence of warmer lake waters
influence, boundary-layer cooling should lessen the potential for
lightning over central/southeastern lower MI. Otherwise, some
lightning threat remains with scattered showers across the northern
Middle Atlantic into upstate NY. Lightning will remain very sparse
with isolated showers over south FL the rest of tonight.
