The severe-thunderstorm threat appears low on Thursday. ....Texas... Extensive convection that is expected to develop and expand in coverage Wednesday evening will likely be ongoing across parts of central Texas Thursday morning. This convection will tend to spread southward through the day, in conjunction with an outflow-reinforced cold front. Deep-layer flow/shear and large-scale ascent will be weakening through the day as a mid/upper-level trough moves eastward away from the region. This will tend to limit storm organization/intensity and the overall severe threat. Some risk for strong/damaging gusts could evolve across areas where stronger pre-convective diurnal heating/destabilization occurs, but uncertainty regarding this potential and the timing/location of the front precludes the addition of severe probabilities at this time. ...Dean.. 10/03/2023 $$ = = = To unsubscribe from WX-STORM and you already have a login, go to https://lists.illinois.edu and use the "Unsubscribe" link.
