....THERE IS A MARGINAL RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS PARTS OF
THE UPPER MS VALLEY...

....SUMMARY...
Isolated large hail and locally damaging winds will be possible
across parts of the Upper Midwest between about 8 PM to 2 AM CDT.

....Synopsis...
A broad upper trough is overspreading the western CONUS, with a lead
mid-level impulse currently ejecting into the northern Plains area.
A surface cold front is draped across the Upper MS Valley,
supporting scattered thunderstorm initiation. Multiple instances of
severe hail have been reported with the stronger storms, and an
isolated severe threat may continue overnight over the Upper MS
Valley. Here, a strengthening low-level jet will increase warm-air
advection and dynamic forcing for ascent, aiding in the maintenance
of ongoing storms and perhaps the development of new storms tonight.
7-8 C/km mid-level lapse rates and some veering/strengthening of the
tropospheric winds (mainly driven by the intensifying low-level jet)
will support scattered multicells capable of producing isolated
severe wind and hail tonight.
