Scattered strong to severe storms capable of locally damaging winds or hail remain possible this evening from near the Red River Valley into parts of eastern Texas. Sporadic strong gusts may occur for a few hours. ....Red River Valley/eastern TX... Scattered storms have formed near the Red River Valley, on the interface of the very hot air and the backed flow/moist surface air mass to the north and east. Northwest flow aloft will combine with weak westerlies near 850 mb later tonight for a threat of damaging gusts or hail as these storms evolve generally southeastward.
