Gusty winds may accompany convection from north Texas into the northern Gulf states early this evening. ....01z Update... Mid-level short-wave trough has crested the southern Plains ridge and is now digging southeast across central MO. As the anticyclone shifts west, deep convection currently observed from central AR into TN will gradually sag south into the northern Gulf states. Much of this activity has been gradually weakening, and will likely continue to do so as boundary-layer temperatures slowly cool. Associated surface front is currently draped across the southern Plains, arcing from northwest TX-southeast OK-central AR-Mid South. Very hot surface temperatures are noted along the boundary over TX into southwest AR.
