The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 620
continues.

SUMMARY...Scattered supercells will spread southeast across eastern
AL into western GA over the next few hours. Hail and wind remain
likely with the strongest storms. Some consideration will be given
to extend the watch a bit south and east.

DISCUSSION...Weak short-wave trough currently extends from eastern
TN into eastern AL. This feature is low amplitude but appears to be
aiding scattered supercells currently located along a corridor from
Shelby County AL to Harris County GA. Seasonally strong 500mb flow
extends across this region with 35-50kt west-northwest flow, which
is more than adequate for sustaining organized updrafts. While much
of northeast AL/northern GA have experienced significant
boundary-layer stabilization, steep lapse rates and 2000-3000 J/kg
MLCAPE persist across the undisturbed warm sector along a corridor
from northern MS-central AL-southern GA. This activity should
continue to propagate southeast with an attendant threat for
hail/wind.
