The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 578
continues.

SUMMARY...A cluster of supercells is expected to grow upscale with
an increasing damaging wind threat later this evening.

DISCUSSION...Three primary supercells are moving southeast across
western North Dakota this evening. These supercells have a history
of severe wind gusts and hail as large as golf ball size. These
storms are moving toward greater low-level moisture and instability
and therefore are expected to maintain themselves as they move
southeast. While storm mode remains supercellular, large hail will
remain a threat. However, eventually these storms should congeal
into a MCS with the potential for a more organized severe wind
threat later this evening, before significant boundary layer cooling
stabilizes the region.
