The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 550
continues.

SUMMARY...The damaging-wind threat may still increase this
afternoon.

DISCUSSION...The earlier bowing segments that moved across Lake MI
into southwest lower MI have weakened as they moved into an
increasingly stable environment. However, storms have intensified
along the southwest flank of both of these clusters, and a modest
increase has recently been noted with convection along the gust
front across southwest lower MI.=20

While the strongest instability remains southwest of the ongoing
storms in this area, diurnal heating and moistening associated with
increasing southwesterly low-level flow (as noted on regional VWPs)
should allow for moderate destabilization with time this afternoon,
downstream of ongoing storms. Stronger deep-layer shear will also
overspread the region as storms move eastward, potentially resulting
in an increasingly organized damaging-wind threat across southern
Lower MI this afternoon.
