Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 505...

The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 505
continues.

SUMMARY...A threat for damaging winds and some hail will spread
east-southeastward this evening.

DISCUSSION...A line of storms has recently solidified across parts
of central/eastern IN, with a developing bowing segment noted
east-southeast of Indianapolis. Moderate buoyancy downstream will
support maintenance of these storms as they approach southeast IN,
southwest OH, and far northern KY. Deep-layer shear gradually
decreases with eastward extent, with somewhat weaker midlevel flow
near the base of the mid/upper-level trough moving across Ontario
and the Great Lakes region. However, given the current state of
organization, a threat for damaging wind will continue to spread
east-southeastward this evening. Some hail will also be possible,
especially with the more discrete storms that have developed ahead
of the line in southwest OH.=20=20

Depending on short-term convective trends, additional watch
expansion may eventually be needed into a larger portion of
southwest OH later this evening.
