The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 502
continues.

SUMMARY...Some lingering hail threat may persist after midnight CDT,
but the threat may continue to diminish overnight.

DISCUSSION...For much of the evening, potentially severe storms have
weakened just before reaching the KS/OK border, while renewed
development occurs atop the outflow across south-central KS. A
general weakening trend is expected to continue overnight, though a
modest southwesterly low-level jet may support occasional
redevelopment of elevated storms within a moderately unstable and
sheared environment.=20

While some hail threat may linger after midnight CDT, current trends
suggest that locally extended WW 500 can expire at midnight.
Depending on short-term trends, it is possible that the remainder of
WW 502 (set to expire at 2 AM CDT) can be cancelled early.
