The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 482
continues.

SUMMARY...The threat for strong/damaging wind gusts should become
more isolated through the remainder of the afternoon into the early
evening.

DISCUSSION...A cluster of storms continues eastward in southern West
Virginia. These storms will encounter both the Appalachians and a
downstream airmass that has already been impacted by
convection/cloud cover. Farther west, a broken line of thunderstorms
also continues in northern Kentucky along a slowly southward-sagging
cold front. These storms have impacted each other frequently given
the deep-layer shear parallel to the direction of motion.
Furthermore, MRMS radar imagery shows outflow moving away from
storms. All these trends suggest that severe potential will be more
isolated going forward. Enough buoyancy and shear exist that an
isolated strong/damaging wind gusts could occur near and just south
of the current activity, particularly if additional storms develop
along the outflow.
