Strong/severe storms are forecast to be most numerous from the Mid Missouri Valley across Missouri, and into the Midwest on Wednesday. ....Upper Midwest into the Ohio and Mid-Mississippi Valleys... Thunderstorms -- possibly in the form of an MCS -- are forecast to be ongoing early Wednesday, across parts of Iowa and surrounding areas. The storms are forecast to continue through the day, shifting east-southeastward into the Midwest region, likely accompanied by risk for locally damaging winds and hail. While the overall evolution remains uncertain, models hint that additional storm development is likely along the southern/western flank of this convection during the afternoon/evening, farther south into Missouri. Evening southwesterly low-level jet development would suggest potential for upscale growth, into a second MCS which could bring risk for damaging winds and hail locally, from Missouri across the Mid Mississippi and lower Ohio Valleys. ....The Northeast... As a cold front shifts slowly southeastward across the Lower Great Lakes region and into New York/New England, afternoon destabilization along the boundary is forecast to support scattered thunderstorm development. With a belt of moderate mid-level westerlies, extending from the Plains eastward across the Great Lakes and Northeast, shear will be sufficient to support locally stronger storms/storm clusters, and associated potential for locally strong wind gusts into the evening hours. ...Goss.. 07/10/2023 $$ = = = To unsubscribe from WX-STORM and you already have a login, go to https://lists.illinois.edu and use the "Unsubscribe" link.
