The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 463
continues.

SUMMARY...Thunderstorm gusts to 45-65 mph remain possible across the
eastern TX Panhandle into western OK the next couple of hours.

DISCUSSION...An organized line of convection is developing
south/southeast at around 40-45 kt. The western flank of convection
over the eastern TX Panhandle is on the northern fringe of a 25-30
kt southerly low-level jet, while the eastern edge of the line, now
spreading into western/central OK, is a bit more removed from the
influence of the low-level jet. This is evident in a somewhat better
organized bowing segment over the eastern TX Panhandle. This may
focus the better risk for severe gusts in a corridor near the
western OK/TX Panhandle border over the next 1-2 hours.=20

Strong to severe convection should be maintained the next several
hours as storms move into an environment with 1000-2000 J/kg MUCAPE
and 35+ kt effective shear magnitudes. Some eastward expansion of WW
463 may be needed into parts of central OK depending on trends over
the next hour or so as convection nears the eastern edge of the
ongoing severe thunderstorm watch.
