Scattered severe thunderstorms will persist this evening across the central Plains. Strong winds and hail remain the greatest risks. ....01z Update... Scattered strong/severe thunderstorms have evolved along a frontal corridor from eastern NE into northwest KS early this evening. This activity continues to expand in areal coverage with some clustering now evident as cold pools are reinforced by the surging cold front. Very warm surface temperatures continue ahead of this activity across KS into southeast NE where SBCAPE remains greater than 2000 J/kg. It appears this corridor of convection may continue to grow upscale as it propagates southeast this evening. Strong winds and hail remain possible. Upstream, several supercells are spreading off the higher terrain of northeast CO with some clustering noted into southeast WY, deep within the post frontal air mass.
