....THERE IS A SLIGHT RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS FROM THE CENTRAL
HIGH PLAINS REGION EASTWARD INTO THE MIDWEST...

....SUMMARY...
Strong/severe storms are forecast to be most widespread Wednesday
from the central High Plains eastward into the Midwest.

....Central High Plains to the Illinois/Indiana area...
As a cold front continues to advance southeastward/southward across
central portions of the country, moderate afternoon destabilization
in the vicinity of the boundary will result in development of
scattered thunderstorms.

Moderate deep-layer shear will generally support multicell clusters,
and linear organization, though a few supercells may occur --
particularly across the central High Plains area where shear is
maximized near and just north of the trailing, west-to-east segment
of the cold front.

Storms appear likely to shift out of the High Plains across parts of
Kansas and Oklahoma overnight, while a frontal band also likely
persists/shifts eastward across the Mid-Mississippi Valley and
Midwest.  Some accompanying risk for damaging winds and hail may
persist through much of the period.

....The Southeast...
Afternoon heating/destabilization along a weak/remnant baroclinic
zone lying across the Southeast will again promote scattered
thunderstorm development.  Though limited shear expected across the
area suggests largely disorganized storms, moderate mid-level
westerly flow could support a couple of semi-organized,
eastward-moving clusters of storms, with attendant risk for locally
damaging wind gusts, and marginal hail.
