The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 412
continues.

SUMMARY...Large hail will remain a threat with elevated supercells
this morning.

DISCUSSION...Multiple elevated supercells have developed and
persisted this morning across parts of central/eastern IL in a
low-level warm advection regime. These thunderstorms have produced
several severe hail reports up to the size of golf balls. An MUCAPE
gradient is present along/near the IL/IN border, and right-moving
supercells should generally track east-southeastward along this
gradient over the next couple of hours. Sufficient instability,
steep mid-level lapse rates, and strong deep-layer shear are present
to support a continued severe hail threat with this activity across
parts of central/eastern IL into far western IN. With MUCAPE quickly
decreasing with eastward extent into IN, the hail threat with should
remain rather isolated across this area. Accordingly, downstream
watch issuance into IN appears unlikely at this time.
