....Severe thunderstorms expected over parts of the south-central
Great Plains this afternoon and tonight...

* LOCATIONS...
  Western and Central Oklahoma
  Southwest Kansas
  Northeast Texas Panhandle

* HAZARDS...
  Widespread damaging winds, some hurricane force
  A few tornadoes
  Widespread large hail, some baseball size

* SUMMARY...
  Widespread severe storms associated with damaging wind gusts,
  large hail and a few tornadoes are expected this afternoon into
  tonight across parts of the southern and central Plains.
  Hailstones greater than 2 inches in diameter and wind gusts
  above 80 mph will be possible along the more intense parts of a
  fast-moving line of storms. A severe threat will also exist
  today across parts of the Southeast, and in parts of the
  Midwest.

Preparedness actions...

Review your severe weather safety procedures for the possibility
of dangerous weather today. Stay tuned to NOAA Weather Radio,
weather.gov, or other media for watches and warnings. A watch
means that conditions are favorable for severe thunderstorms
over the next several hours. If a severe thunderstorm warning is
issued for your area, move to a place of safety, ideally in an
interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building.
