The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 240
continues.

SUMMARY...Damaging winds will be the primary threat from parts of
eastern Colorado into southeast Wyoming and the Nebraska Panhandle.
Isolated large hail and perhaps a brief tornado are also possible,
especially with more discrete storms.

DISCUSSION...Convection has become more linear across eastern
Colorado into southeastern Wyoming. A few discrete elements remain
in southeastern Colorado where effective shear is greater. Though
upper-level forcing is modest, storms should be able to propagate
into a moist, unstable airmass in the High Plains. Damaging winds
(most likely 45-55 kts) will be the main concern. Discrete storms in
southeastern/east-central Colorado could also produce isolated large
hail. Low-level southeasterly winds and a slight increase in 850 mb
winds this evening will help to maintain moisture in the region and
provide just enough hodograph curvature for a brief tornado or two.
Activity will likely persist for a few more hours before
encountering less unstable conditions in western Kansas/Nebraska.
