Isolated severe thunderstorms remain possible tonight across parts of the southern High Plains. Large hail and localized severe gusts are the primary hazards. ....Southern High Plains... Isolated supercells are ongoing this evening across parts of the TX Panhandle, within an environment characterized by moderate buoyancy (MLCAPE of 750-1500 J/kg), veering wind profiles, and sufficient effective shear (25-35 kt) for some storm organization. A modestly increasing low-level jet will likely support some upscale growth later this evening, with large hail and isolated severe gusts remaining a threat into late evening. Increasing MLCINH will eventually lead to a diminishing threat with time, though some risk for isolated hail and/or damaging gusts may spread into western OK overnight. See MCD 818 for more information regarding the short-term severe threat in the TX Panhandle. ...Dean.. 05/19/2023 $$ = = = To unsubscribe from WX-STORM and you already have a login, go to https://lists.illinois.edu and use the "Unsubscribe" link.
