The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 204
continues.

SUMMARY...Swaths of potentially significant damaging wind and large
to very large hail will spread east-southeastward through the
afternoon.

DISCUSSION...An MCS with embedded supercell structures is moving
east-southeastward across north-central KS early this afternoon.
Gusts of 70-80 mph have already been noted with this system, and the
threat for swaths of significant damaging wind will likely increase
with time this afternoon, given the improving organization of the
MCS and notable destabilization and steepening of low-level lapse
rates downstream.=20

The developing bow echo noted east of Concordia and Salina KS will
likely continue to move east-southeastward, along and just north of
a diffuse warm front. Continued redevelopment along the
southwestward flank will be possible where the gust front intersects
the increasing cumulus field into parts of central KS. Embedded
supercells will be capable of large to very large hail, in addition
to the severe wind threat. A couple line-embedded tornadoes will
also be possible, especially along and to the immediate cool side of
the warm front.
