....THERE IS A SLIGHT RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS PORTIONS OF
THE FLORIDA PENINSULA AND THE MID-SOUTH...

....SUMMARY...
Severe storms remain possible this evening across the Mid-South
region and over portions of the Florida Peninsula. Large hail, gusty
winds, and perhaps a brief tornado remain possible.

....01z Update...

Long-lived MCS that evolved over the central Gulf Coast has
progressed into the eastern Gulf of Mexico/northern FL/southeast GA.
Radar data suggests the remnants of an MCV are noted along the
northern portions of this MCS near VLD. Over the last hour or so,
the strongest convection has gradually retreated to offshore regions
of the eastern Gulf with a pronounced squall line expected to
approach the central FL Gulf Coast later this evening. However, this
activity is expected to gradually weaken as it moves inland.
Diurnally driven convection that evolved across eastern portions of
the peninsula has mostly moved offshore, although several clusters
do linger east of Orlando to Port St. Lucie. This activity should
continue to weaken as it propagates east over the next few hours.

Across the Mid-South, scattered robust convection has developed
north of the mid-level jet over eastern AR. Several supercells have
evolved within the exit region and this activity is gradually
evolving into clusters. Latest MRMS data suggests hail is occurring
with many of these updrafts, though much of it is less than 1 inch.
For the next several hours hail/wind threat continues with the
strongest storms.
