Severe thunderstorms are not forecast the rest of tonight. ....01z Update... Expansive MCS continues to propagate across the western Gulf Basin in response to low-latitude short-wave trough that is ejecting across this region. As a result, thunderstorm probabilities are very low across most of the CONUS east of the Rockies, except for a small portion of south FL for the next few hours. Isolated thunderstorms are focused just inland of the southern FL Gulf Coast from near Sarasota Springs to western Miami-Dade County. Low-level convergence should weaken across interior south FL over the next few hours and this activity should gradually weaken. Otherwise, scattered weak convection has developed from eastern WA/OR into portions of the Great Basin. This activity is developing within strongly diffluent flow aloft where lapse rates are steep. Additionally, at least two distinct short-wave troughs are influencing this convection and isolated thunderstorms can be expected across this portion of the interior west tonight, especially this evening. ...Darrow.. 04/24/2023 $$ = = = To unsubscribe from WX-STORM and you already have a login, go to https://lists.illinois.edu and use the "Unsubscribe" link.
