Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 140...

The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 140
continues.

SUMMARY...The severe threat continues across Severe Thunderstorm
Watch 0140. Large hail and severe wind gusts remain the primary
threats into the evening.

DISCUSSION...Several supercell thunderstorms have developed ahead of
the cold front over the past several hours, with numerous reports of
severe hail received across much of central AR into northwest LA.
Given afternoon peak heating, buoyancy as well as shear remain
bountiful ahead of the ongoing storms, suggesting that several more
instances of severe hail should be possible into the evening hours
with the more discrete storms. Storms also appear to be growing
upscale into a line across central AR just northwest of Little Rock,
where 60 mph winds were measured within the last hour. As these
storms continue to grow upscale into a line, the risk of severe
gusts will continue to increase this evening.
