A few storms may still produce hail over 1.00" diameter this evening, mainly from southwest Oklahoma into far northwest Texas. Isolated stronger storms persist this evening from central OK into northwest TX, beneath cool profiles aloft. Several reports of large hail occurred earlier today during the peak heating hours, but overall coverage and intensity is expected to wane over time with time as the boundary layer cools. The 00Z OUN sounding shows good lapse rates through a deep layer, along with a straight hodograph favoring southwestward-moving cells. Over the next hour or two, the stronger storms may continue to pose a hail and perhaps gusty wind threat.
