Isolated thunderstorms are possible along the western Gulf Coast and Florida Peninsula on Tuesday. Severe thunderstorms are not expected. ....Synopsis... Surface high pressure will remain over the TN Valley throughout the day Tuesday, keeping low-level moisture relegated to the Gulf Coast and FL. At the same time, an upper low over southeast TX will remain nearly stationary throughout the period. Combination of these features is expected to keep much of the thunderstorm activity offshore on Tuesday. Even so, a few storms are possible from the southeast TX and the TX Gulf Coast into southern LA, but limited buoyancy should keep the severe potential low. Despite drier conditions than Monday, a few isolated thunderstorms are possible across the FL Peninsula as well. Farther west, a strong shortwave trough is expected to move from the Pacific Northwest eastward/northeastward through the northern Rockies. Cold mid-level temperatures will accompany this wave, and a few flashes are possible across northwest WA and northern ID. However, coverage is expected to be less than 10%. ...Mosier.. 04/09/2023 $$ = = = To unsubscribe from WX-STORM and you already have a login, go to https://lists.illinois.edu and use the "Unsubscribe" link.
