Severe thunderstorms are not expected on Tuesday. ....Synopsis... An upper shortwave trough over the Mid-MS Valley vicinity Tuesday morning will shift east through period, moving offshore the Atlantic coast overnight. A second upper trough over central Canada will also progress eastward over portions of the Upper Midwest and upper Great Lakes. Further west, an upper ridge will move from the western states to the Plains while an upper low/trough off the Pacific Northwest coast develops south and east toward CA by Wednesday morning. At the surface, a cold front extending from southern GA westward along the central Gulf Coast and into southern TX will drop south through early Wednesday, becoming oriented from central FL into the northern Gulf. Surface high pressure building across much of the U.S. east of the Rockies will result in mostly stable conditions. The exception will be in the vicinity of the frontal boundary. Isolated to scattered thunderstorm will be possible from southern/coastal TX eastward to southern GA/FL. Modest vertical shear and weak instability will preclude severe potential. ...Leitman.. 03/26/2023 $$ = = = To unsubscribe from WX-STORM and you already have a login, go to https://lists.illinois.edu and use the "Unsubscribe" link.
