Severe thunderstorms are not expected tonight. ....Discussion... As an upper trough continues shifting across the eastern U.S., an associated surface cold front -- that has cleared inland Florida -- will continue shifting southward overnight. As such, any lightning potential at this point should remain confined to areas offshore. In the West, westerly upslope flow will continue across the Sierra, south of a short-wave trough that will approach/reach the Pacific Northwest Coast late. Showery convection resulting from the upslope-induced ascent has diminished in most areas, but a few lightning flashes remain possible this evening. Elsewhere, thunderstorms are not expected. ...Goss.. 03/20/2023 $$ = = = To unsubscribe from WX-STORM and you already have a login, go to https://lists.illinois.edu and use the "Unsubscribe" link.
