DISCUSSION...Over the past few hours, mid-level water vapor imagery has shown a steady increase in isentropic ascent within the warm conveyor region of a deepening cyclone across the northern Rockies. Consequently, precipitation has increased in spatial coverage across northern to north-central MT over the past 1-2 hours with a few transient snow bands noted. This trend is expected to persist for the next several hours as the low translates into the northern High Plains and undergoes further deepening. Gradually cooling temperatures aloft coupled with increasing mid-level saturation should result in a roughly 100 mb deep DGZ co-located with persistent ascent near 700 mb that will foster moderate to heavy snowfall rates upwards of 1-2 inches per hour.=20 Across far northeast MT, multiple surface stations are already reporting sustained 20-30 knot winds with occasional gusts between 30-40 knots. Visibility reductions to 1/4 mile or less have also been periodically noted with the passage of heavier precipitation. While blizzard conditions are currently rather isolated and transient based on surface observations and regional web cams, the combination of increasing heavy snowfall potential and strengthening easterly gradient winds will yield more widespread blizzard conditions through the late evening/overnight hours. ...Moore.. 03/10/2023 ....Please see https://urldefense.com/v3/__http://www.spc.noaa.gov__;!!DZ3fj= g!5Wqq0S8YJgSOA-vZdyXGBBJyCtX1TfILA_JOqc89VUzUkvlIBa9kh7xqq3FO0oYTUdL4qKmKn= -mVH1s3KZr1mUIg7fE$ for graphic product...
