Each day during the week will feature information about a different flood related topic. ....Flood Safety... Nearly every day, flooding happens somewhere in the United States or its territories. Flooding can occur anywhere in Arkansas at any time of the year. Flooding causes more damage in the country than any other weather related event. On average, floods cause eight billion dollars in damages and eighty to ninety fatalities annually. More than half of these deaths are the result of driving into flood waters. Flooding claimed the lives of four Arkansans in 2022 alone. Being prepared and knowing how to stay safe will help you and your loved ones survive a flood. Emergency preparedness is the responsibility of every citizen in Arkansas.
