West-southwesterly mid-level flow will continue through tonight across much of the southern and central U.S, as several shortwave troughs move across the northern states. Warm advection may be enough for isolated lightning strikes this evening across parts of the upper Ohio Valley. In the West, isolated thunderstorms are ongoing in the Sacramento Valley where a localized and marginal severe threat will be possible for another hour or so this evening.
