A few thunderstorms will be possible this evening into tonight across the Upper Midwest, eastern Florida and in parts of the western states. No severe threat is expected. ....DISCUSSION... A west-southwest mid-level flow pattern will remain in place across the continental United States through tonight. A shortwave trough will move across the north-central states. A 40 to 50 knot low-level jet ahead of the trough will contribute to a chance for elevated thunderstorms across parts of the Upper Midwest tonight. Elsewhere, isolated thunderstorms will be possible across parts of central Florida. A few lightning strikes may also occur along parts of the West Coast and in the Intermountain West.
