Gusty winds may accompany thunderstorms over the Florida Panhandle tonight. ....Florida Panhandle... A positive-tilt upper-level trough over northern Mexico/far west Texas early today will continue eastward and reach the Lower Mississippi Valley and middle Gulf Coast late tonight. Preceding cyclogenesis will remain weak, but some northward flux of richer low-level moisture will occur along the middle Gulf Coast/Florida Panhandle. With the approach of the upstream trough tonight, a few stronger/sustained thunderstorms could develop particularly across parts of the Florida Panhandle, where locally damaging winds could occur. Weaker surface-based destabilization, particularly with northward extent, is currently expected to limit severe-weather potential elsewhere. ...Guyer/Goss.. 02/02/2023 $$ = = = To unsubscribe from WX-STORM and you already have a login, go to https://lists.illinois.edu and use the "Unsubscribe" link.
