Severe thunderstorms will not occur tonight across the contiguous United States. ....Synopsis... Water-vapor imagery shows a closed mid-level low near the Baja CA and southern CA vicinity. This mid-level feature will migrate slowly eastward to the northern part of Baja by daybreak Tuesday. Farther east, strong southwesterly mid to high-level flow will extend from northern Mexico northeast through the central US and into the Northeast. In the low levels, a largely stationary/slowly southward-oozing front will extend from deep south TX northeastward through the lower MS Valley. A few elevated weak thunderstorms are possible this evening near the Arklatex. A couple of additional lightning flashes cannot be ruled out near the southern CA coast in association with the mid-level cold pocket and perhaps near the FL/GA border. ...Smith.. 01/31/2023 $$ = = = To unsubscribe from WX-STORM and you already have a login, go to https://lists.illinois.edu and use the "Unsubscribe" link.
