Organized severe thunderstorms are not expected today or tonight. ....East/Southeast Texas to ArkLaTex/Lower Mississippi Valley... Broad cyclonic upper flow over the majority of the CONUS will be flanked by upper ridging and height rises over the Gulf of Mexico/Southeast. To the southeast of a front approaching North Texas and the ArkLaTex region tonight, increasing warm/moist advection beneath a plume of modestly steepening mid-level lapse rates will support an increasing potential for isolated thunderstorms tonight, particularly across east/southeast Texas toward the ArkLaTex vicinity. A few stronger elevated thunderstorms could materialize late tonight mainly near the upper Texas coast and far east/southeast Texas into western Louisiana. This could include some potential for small hail, but the prospects for organized/multiple severe storms capable of >1 inch hail still appears to be low. ...Guyer.. 01/28/2023 $$ = = = To unsubscribe from WX-STORM and you already have a login, go to https://lists.illinois.edu and use the "Unsubscribe" link.
