The severe weather threat for Tornado Watch 25 continues.

SUMMARY...An isolated severe threat is expected to continue for a
couple more hours. Wind damage and a brief tornado will be possible.
A local extension in area and time has been made across parts of
Mississippi.

DISCUSSION...A line of thunderstorm is currently ongoing from
eastern Louisiana extending north-northeastward into northwest
Mississippi. Some short-line segments have recently intensified near
the Mississippi River in southwest Mississippi. The environment
ahead of these storms is weakly unstable with the RAP showing MLCAPE
around 500 J/kg. In addition, the WSR-88D VWP at Jackson,
Mississippi has about 60 knot of flow from the southwest at 3 km
above ground level. This is creating strong deep-layer shear which
should be enough to support an isolated severe threat continuing
past the expiration of WW 25. For this reason, a local extension in
area and time has been made. The primary threat should wind damage,
although a brief tornado will also remain possible.
