SUMMARY...Snow rates of 1-2 inches per hour may become increasingly
prevalent later this morning into the afternoon.

DISCUSSION...Moderate to occasionally heavy snow is ongoing this
morning across parts of western/central NE, in association with a
strong mid/upper-level shortwave trough over eastern CO and
associated surface low over the central High Plains. VWPs from KUEX
and KLNX are indicative of an ongoing low-level warm-advection
regime, and as this system moves eastward and intensifies through
the day, large-scale ascent will increase near and north of the
developing midlevel cyclone.=20

Steep midlevel lapse rates and nonzero MUCAPE will support some
convective enhancement to snow rates, as precipitation increases
through the morning from central/western KS into central NE. Snow
rates of 1-2 inches per hour may become increasingly prevalent by
late morning into the afternoon, along with the potential for
sporadic lightning flashes. Southern and eastern parts of the MCD
area may mix with sleet for a time this morning, but a transition to
mostly snow is expected as the primary mid/upper-level system
approaches the region from the west.
