Probability of Watch Issuance...80 percent

SUMMARY...A risk for severe thunderstorms will likely move into the
Upstate of SC and adjacent portions of the NC Piedmont.  Damaging
gusts and a brief tornado are possible with the stronger storms.

DISCUSSION...Radar mosaic shows a severe squall line over north GA
extending southwest into eastern AL.  This squall line will quickly
move northeastward late this afternoon and into SC.  Although clouds
and scattered showers have limited diurnal destabilization, surface
dewpoints in the mid-upper 50s are contributing to weak buoyancy.=20
Flow is forecast to strengthen through the early evening across the
southern Appalachians/adjacent Piedmont and become more favorable
for at least damaging gusts.  A tornado risk may develop with
transient circulations embedded within the line or with any
supercell ahead of the main band of storms.
