Organized severe thunderstorms are not expected through tonight. ....Synopsis... A mid-level trough will reach the Eastern Seaboard as a second upper trough impinges on the West Coast tonight. This evening, thunderstorm development is expected along or just east of the North Carolina Outer Banks as a surface low develops offshore. Shear and buoyancy suggests that robust thunderstorm development is possible, but that the strongest storms should remain over open waters. Otherwise, scant buoyancy and deep-layer ascent may overspread portions of central and northern California tonight in association with the approaching mid-level trough. A couple of lightning flashes cannot be ruled out over land. However, buoyancy is expected to remain marginal enough to exclude thunder probabilities this outlook. ...Squitieri.. 01/09/2023 $$ = = = To unsubscribe from WX-STORM and you already have a login, go to https://lists.illinois.edu and use the "Unsubscribe" link.
