Severe thunderstorms are not expected on Friday. ....Synopsis... Generally low-amplitude west/southwesterly mid/upper flow pattern will emerge across the CONUS on Friday. A weak shortwave trough will shift east across the Southwest. Resulting height falls will lead to weak lee surface low development across the southern High Plains. Associated southerly low level flow ahead of this feature will transport Gulf moisture northward across the eastern half of TX. While this will result in some weak instability across central TX toward the coast, midlevel capping and weak large-scale ascent will limit convective development. Elsewhere, a dearth of boundary-layer moisture and widespread surface high pressure will preclude thunderstorm chances. ...Leitman.. 01/04/2023 $$ = = = To unsubscribe from WX-STORM and you already have a login, go to https://lists.illinois.edu and use the "Unsubscribe" link.
