DISCUSSION...A band of moderate to heavy snow is developing within parts of central/northern Nebraska. Recent surface observations from Thedford, NE reported heavy snow. As the upper-level trough and associated surface cyclone intensify overnight, a region of heavy snowfall should continue to develop northeastward into northern Nebraska and southeastern South Dakota as ascent in the dendritic growth zone increases as well. Forecast soundings and the observed OAX sounding show steep lapse rates at cloud top. Some convectively enhanced snowfall, along with isolated lightning flashes, is possible with this activity. Snowfall rates of 1-2 inches per hour are possible into Tuesday morning. ...Wendt.. 01/03/2023 ....Please see https://urldefense.com/v3/__http://www.spc.noaa.gov__;!!DZ3fj= g!-_RgKipaDx-VLSYBFC7YSCJI2sXIh8rsZmXqEvpPXEt-u9ChNUjhJy1P5hHTDpY5KYuTJFCq0= xtSU6o_3tleuwl8uCE$ for graphic product...
