....NO SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AREAS FORECAST...

....SUMMARY...
A few lightning strikes will be possible along the coasts of
northern California and far southwest Oregon today into tonight. No
thunderstorms are expected elsewhere across the continental United
States.

....DISCUSSION...
A shortwave trough will move across the southern Atlantic Seaboard
today as a second shortwave trough moves through the upper Great
Lakes. Out west, an upper-level trough will move into the Pacific
Northwest. Large-scale ascent and mid-level moisture associated with
this system may be enough for isolated lightning along and near the
coasts of northern California and southwest Oregon. However, no
severe threat is expected. Elsewhere across the continental United
States, no thunderstorms are forecast to develop either today or
tonight.
