Thunderstorms are not expected across the continental United States
through tonight.

....Discussion...
Christmas Day and night will see little convective potential across
the continental United States. An upper-level ridge will shift
eastward over the West while an upper trough amplifies and digs
southeastward from the Canadian prairies toward the Upper Midwest.
This scenario will influence a persistence of continental
trajectories and cold/stable conditions particularly east of the
Rockies. Thunderstorms are not expected today or tonight across the
CONUS, although a few lightning flashes are conceivable off the
coast of the Pacific Northwest.
