....NO SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AREAS FORECAST...

....SUMMARY...
Isolated lightning flashes will be possible this evening across
northern Maine.

....DISCUSSION...
A large upper-level system centered over the lower Great Lakes will
move northeastward into southeastern Canada this evening. A band of
strong large-scale ascent will continue to advance northeastward
across New England this evening. Maximized low-level flow, combined
with the strong large-scale ascent, may be enough for a few
lightning strikes in northern Maine this evening. Elsewhere across
the continental United States, cold and dry high pressure will limit
the potential for thunderstorm development. No severe threat is
expected this evening or tonight.
