Isolated thunderstorms will be possible across far south Florida on Sunday, but no severe thunderstorms are expected. ....DISCUSSION... An upper-level trough will move across the eastern U.S. on Sunday, as a ridge moves through the south-central states. A shortwave trough will move through the Desert Southwest. At the surface, an area of high pressure will move northeastward across the Mississippi, Tennessee and Ohio Valleys. A moist airmass will be in place across south Florida on the southern periphery of this large area of high pressure. Enough instability should be present in far south Florida for thunderstorm development. However, any development should remain isolated due to a lack of large-scale ascent, and the instability and shear should be inadequate for a severe weather threat. Elsewhere across the continental United States, no thunderstorm development is forecast Sunday or Sunday night. ...Broyles.. 12/16/2022 $$ = = = To unsubscribe from WX-STORM and you already have a login, go to https://lists.illinois.edu and use the "Unsubscribe" link.
