A few general thunderstorms may occur over far southern Florida on Friday. ....Synopsis... An upper low will move slowly eastward across the upper Great Lakes on Friday with an expansive area of strong southwest flow aloft from the southern Plains to the Mid Atlantic. At the surface, a cold front will be well offshore the eastern seaboard, with a large ridge extending from the Great Basin into the Southeast. While most of the CONUS will be stable, the tail end of a cold front will stall over south Florida, with dewpoints near 70 F. Forecast soundings indicate MLCAPE around 1500 J/kg during the afternoon, with weak boundary-layer flow. As such, convergence and lift will be minimal, and only isolated convection is expected. ...Jewell.. 12/14/2022 $$ = = = To unsubscribe from WX-STORM and you already have a login, go to https://lists.illinois.edu and use the "Unsubscribe" link.
